If roadworthy that Oxford is probably the rarest car on this whole forum!

PA Cresta's were always my favourite European car.

I can remember the first time I ever saw one, it was parked up under an atmospheric looking street light one night in my home village.

I couldn't believe it was a Vauxhall, I though at that time it looked just like Christine.

I grew up with the old Crestas and Victors. My Grandad had a Vauxhall/Bedford dealership so all my uncles drove top of the range Vauxhalls.

Nice collection, Spence. It's rare to see any of those European cars here, but occasionally one will turn up.

uet to enlighten our friends in the US those Morris Oxfords were still being built under license in India right up into the 1990's as taxis, etc. (They look a bit Checker-ish??)

01-19-2015, 04:28 PM
Thanks guys the old Oxford is quite a rare old beast they were made up until a year or so ago in India and called the Hindustan Ambassador however they did change them over the years but to think production between England and India lasted over 60 years

They were built in India alongside the 1972-5 Vauxhall Victor and the Rover SDI, I believe. Albeit with very different engines.

I nearly bought one a few years back but decided against it the original is the best

They still used the old original body pressings from the Morris factory, which were very worn.....so fitting panels was done with large lumps of wood and a lot of thumping.

This is a cool model Spencer. I'm crazy for old trucks and this one will be a blue beauty. Your getting a nice shine on that paint.

01-26-2015, 06:44 AM
The joy's of 2K paint, it's a decent finish so i'll not be sanding and polishing it's a work truck not a trailer Queen, will be on the road for easter, I'm rebuilding the rear bed this week more rust to remove lol.
