Transmission rebuilt! My seals were all hardened and non functional, making shifting into 3rd and reverse impossible. Also, I recently got Manos' (from Greece) bumper wings chromed and mounted....
Hey! my car has been in the shop getting the transmission rebuilt and it's been three weeks - UGH. Should be done next week. They're also replacing a bad leak at the oil pan gasket, but the mechanic...
Visited Arnie Cunningham's house (filming location) this weekend. The owner came out and was super nice.

This weekend, I masked and painted the lower grill without removing the bumper or chrome strips. Krylon makes a color spraypaint that is remarkably close to the original Plymouth color, "Torreador...
Thanks! Yes, it was a long time to get her on the road - she’s still not 100%, but I can drive her so that’s enough while I work on other things (huge oil leaks and no reverse)
Hello! I've been busy enjoying the summer with the family and the car. So much fun!

Ah, thank you very much!!
Current issue: Transmission won't shift into reverse or overdrive (? the freeway gear?) until the transmission is hot - as in, been driving for several miles. Makes me...
Sorry it wasn’t stuck open, it just wouldn’t close because the rod broke. I got a new set of push rods and it runs better than ever!
Yes, very happy to have her on the road.... for a week. I broke a push rod and one of the valves stuck open. It still drove but sounded very rough and very little power. We are pulling all the rods...
She's finally back on the road after 30 years! Still plenty to do. But she's up and running. Many thanks to John at BigM for the super clean 1960 318 v8 we installed.
Next on the list to do:

Thanks! Can you include a link?
Thank you for the advice. The crankshafts are interchangeable?
The seller said it's a poly 318 engine. If it still doesn't match up, pulling parts to rebuild the original motor is another option.
Found a rebuilt 1965 Chrysler 318 small block and will have this one installed.

It's been a while, but here's the latest. I got it running and it ran surprisingly smooth, but I haven't driven it. The oil had a LOT of coolant in it so we pulled the heads and discovered this......
Wow, are you ok with the result of the fires? That pic of it looks like a living nightmare. I heard on the news report up here that many of you lost power for a week, true?
Nice car, do you have...
Thanks for the info, John. Would love to meet up. Thank you.
We had some crazy fires last weekend.

Thank you for this, Imperial King!
I'm done messing with this. I've ordered the Mopar electronic ignition. Anyone else done this?

Replaced the wire, Replaced the points but can’t figure out how to mount the plate reliably. It seems to move around, not allowing the points to reliably rest against the cam. Is there something I’m...
Yes, I'm super grateful for John's assistance and parts!
Update: Cranking, but still no spark.
Over the weekend I worked on the distributor and replaced the rotor and condensor. Still no spark...
