Thread: Another Bike

  1. #21
Thanks to someone that was getting rid of some of his bikes and parts, I now have a lot of work to do that are mostly Schwinn's.

    Vintage Raleigh Fold Up bike
    Schwinn mens
    Schwinn boys Stingray
    A few Schwinn womens frames
    Gold Schwinn exercise bike
    Stems and handlebars
    Forks
    2 20inch Springer forks
A lot of wheels and rims
    Fenders
Another Murray Monterey frame and a few more things.

I just had a flashback to the 80's. I had a Haro back then and my daughter has a Haro MTN bike now.

My best bike was a GT Mach One in '88.

  5. #25
Mach One, those were the mac daddy's. That's want I wanted but ended up with a Haro, which was a good bike.

  6. #26
Nope none of those, I never really got into BMX's especially the expensive ones, I only had one BMX before but it was a cheap white Huffy with the white caps over the wheels and stuff.

You faggots would get along with Andy just dandy. He's a BMX fanatic and owns like 20 bikes. I think he has two Haros. He has collected them over the years and sometimes he gets them free when people think they aren't worth spit.

I have owned a car since I was 13. I drove it too. Til I got caught.

I had a Mongoose 2 BMX with Skyway Tuff wheels, when i was a kid.
I had a race plate on the front with a confederate flag on it.

I've now got a Marin Mountain Bike, only ever used it 3 times, it cost me a fortune too.
    Everything's good!

Lee, do you have info on Vintage Raleigh 20 folding bikes or anyone else here from over there of these cool little English rides?

I am going to record all the serial numbers today on paper and take pics.

Way to trash Matt's thread and call him names, nice moderating.

Lee, I had Tuff Wheels for awhile until I realized they were hevier than Z-Rims. Tuff Wheels were tuff.

Matt, do you have a picture of the bike you are asking about?

  11. #31
I remember Tuff wheels too. We called them mag wheels.

Mark called Ray, Lee and Me faggots because we had cool ass name brand bikes. I traded a ton of baseball cards and $50 for my mach one. Luckily the seller was a spoiled only grandchild.

Matt, how are you scooping up your bikes? Do you advertise?

  12. #32
I read that word, keep the words safe for everyone.

I never advertised anywhere except I did ask earlier here in this tread and Lee suggested that I put a thread in the business section for to maybe fix bikes for the other members and such, the guy from ratrodbikes was going to scrap some so if I wanted to look that I would to to his place, he had a nice 1979 Mustang Pace car the when he got it but it didn't have an engine then put one in as well as fixing rearends and so forth.

Seems that most is there, the reflector on the rear fender doesn't look broken or scratched.

Raleigh bikes are a British institution Matt.
Solid and dependable, you can't go much wrong with a Raleigh.
    I had a couple when I was a kid.

I don't know of any info' to hand but I don't mind making a few calls etc. if you start researching a few things.

Steve, James May from Top Gear did a program about iconic toys.

He reckons in it's day, the Raleigh Chopper cost the equivalent of 400 quid.
That sounded a little far fetched to me as there were so many around.

    They're collectable now.

I was too young, I had the smaller version the Tomahawk

1986 Murray Monterey, I know the year because at that time they put the year on the headbadge decal.

Schwinn was the only one that saved their date codes.
Blue Schwinn Breeze April 1968 that used to be from Wauwatosa WI according to the 1976 License.

    Coppertone Exercise Bike March 1978

Green Schwinn December 1972 I don't know what speed it is.

    Green Schwinn August 1968

Red but was Blue Schwinn 4-7-1965 or 4-21-1965 because I couldn't read two of the numbers.

    Coppertone Schwinn 2-15-1965
