    Beautiful car!

When I understand it right, the Mayfair and Regent models were produced only for the Canadian market? What was the reason for that?

I bought this radio for 5$ on a swap meet stand back when I was 12 years old, so that's around 1988, as I was already a fan of Christine and I just knew I would own a 58 some day... This radio was in my bedroom, hooked up and working untill I was about 15 and then it remained in a box at my parent's house.

I dug it out recently and to my amazement, it still works fine!

Now that I do own a 58, this radio that I held on to for 25 years will go in it and I'll keep the other radio (an "Automatic" model) as a spare. It will go in my car as soon as the thermometer shows something around zero celcius instead of the -20's we had for days now..

It does work very, very well! Unfortunately, the chrome face bezel is far from mint, though, and it's a bit pitted and scratched. I'm considering having it chrome plated before I put it in, but I hesitate just because of the nostalgia of this radio being as I found it when I was a kid.

Great story on the radio David...put it in as is. I found once they're mounted in place the imperfections on the face aren't nearly as noticeable because they're not at eye level...plus as you said, the nostalgia factor is valuable in itself. I really like your car...a lot.

ID:	9172Time for a long overdue update on my car. Spent a lot of time restoring the interior back to original black and white Regent/Savoy with the Canada-only OEM fabric and correct door panels, etc.

Here's a few pics for your consideration.Click image for larger version.

What are you going to do with the extra door panel chrome/stainless trim pieces? marc.

    Hi marc!

They are from a 57 so they are headed for western Canada to help a friend restore his 57 dodge mayfair

As much as I love the 57/58 plymouths front end, I think this is a perfect blend. Has the classic fins and plymouth body, with a dodge front clip that's not overly done and just enough polish, sparkle and "menace" to the bumpers and grill.
