I remember just after the movie came out, a buddy and I were cruising around east Nashville and spotted a white '58 Dodge 2-door hardtop in a used car lot. Of course we had to check it out. I thought it was the next best thing to a '58 Plymouth, the front-end being her best feature.

I remember the price, too. They were asking $2,800; she would prolly be a $20,000 car today.

Crazy, I know, but I now own two of the same.. I bought another 1958 Dodge Regent Sport Coupe!

Car looks like crap now, as it is partly disassembled and was sanded down in the 1970's before it was put away in a barn.
It is very complete, though, and even comes with a lot of extra parts. It's a running car, believe it or not, and has clear registration and papers.

Originally Sapphire Blue Metallic and Dover white, two tone blue interior. It has the 313 V8 with Powerflite automatic, radio, windshield washer.. not many other options.

I'm going to go pick it up in a couple of weeks and will post pictures of that event when I can.

For now, these two pictures, of my two twin Regents!

Wow, your a lucky son of a gun to have two rare cars in your drive way.
What are the laws in your neck of the woods there, does it have to pass
    an inspection to be insured?

Yes, the car is registered but as "in storage". It will need an inspection to be put back on the road. It has not seen the pavement since the 1970's!

I almost bought a 1958 Mayfair out of Ontario 4-5 years ago but decided to get
    ripped off in Tennessee instead.
I wish now I'd bought it, ofcourse....
