Does anyone know why Christine's odometer was running backwards? I was curious about this. Did her union with Arnie make her feel younger? Was she sapping his life-energy so she could be younger?
What did that mean? Your thoughts are all appreciated!

As Christine was transforming back from ruins into her glorious state her odometer rolled backwards and also Arnie was transforming as well. If You review the movie You will see when found her odometer had 93,000 miles on it and as Arnie was fixing Christine up the mileage lowed

Arnie was supposed to be transforming back to the 1950's too wasn't he?? I thought it was all part of the car possessing the owner and returning back to it's glory days. Arnie was transforming into the original Lebay character and the car was going back to their youth together. It was a bit of a 'Portrait of Dorian Grey' kinda idea.

Hell I don't care how many miles are on mine I mainly put 1/4 mile at a time, Not many miles but hard miles, I have a lot of hard miles on me too, Don't think I will ever get them back

In the book Arnie pushed Christine backwards around Darnell's junkyard.
As he did so the Odo was going backwards and Christine was restoring back to her original state.

On cars thiks old the mileometer reading is totally meaningless anyway......
