    Vintage Toys

Hi, one of my other hobbies is collecting old toys, mainly diecast. I had some left over from my childhood, then i started replacing my broken toys, then the toys i always wanted as a child and never had..and so on.. I've had to stop collecting for now as my plymouth resto has taken much of my spare funds and i've pretty much filled my man cave.. Anyway hope some of my collection wil interest some of you. Love the match box cars, I had quite a few of those but have no idea what happened to them over the years.

Wow, so many toys I would love but can never afford these days. Looks like you have a KITT from the 80's of. I found one at a car show 14 years ago but even though it was cheap I couldn't get it at the time.

I had Ghostbusters, Knight Rider, Dukes Of Hazzard, The A-Team and other toys back then including Hot Wheels.

Not all but a few I would have to play with.

I used to have hundreds of Dinky toys coz my Mum was a credit clerk in the Liverpool meccano factory where they made the Dinky cars. If anything was slightly substandard, (missing tyre, windscreen, or slightly chipped paint etc), it would be rejected from the propduction line and put into a big bin on the shop floor. Every Friday lunchtime the staff could help themselves to the rejects and my Mum would often fill her handbag. Dad would fix them up that night and I would get new toy cars for the weekend. Never got one with a box for years!

a few years ago, i went to a toy fair at Shepton Mallet, there was this old guy at a stall next to the one i was looking at, he looked similar to Worzel Gummidge, with what i imagine, the same sort of odours.
He had in his hand 4 chipped, battered old dinky cars, dating i think from the 1930s, to me they were knackerd, bent axles, heavy paint loss, very very well played with.. He was talking with the stall holder, and said .."can you do them for 12"..after some deliberation, the stall holder agreed.
I watched in utter amazement as this old guy pulled out a large roll of banknotes, and handed over 12hundred pounds for these 4 models.. I thought they were talking 12quid..

Arnie Cunningham - All of this because some drunk ran over that sh*tter Welch?

Arnie Cunningham - you just saddle up and ride along with all those other sh*tters.
